1 Scope
1.1
This Standard covers plumbing waste fittings of sizes NPS-2 and smaller.
1.2
Plumbing supply fittings are covered by ASME A1 1 2.1 8.1 /CSA B1 25.1 .
1.3
Other devices, e.g., temperature-actuated in-line mixing valves and flexible connectors under continuous
pressure, are covered by CSA B1 25.3 or other plumbing product Standards.
1.4
This Standard does not apply to pipes and tubes or pipe and tube fittings.

ln this Standard, ” shall” is used to express a requirement, i.e., a provision that the user is obliged to satisfyin order to comply with the standard; ” should”iis used to express a recommendation or that which isadvised but not required; and “may”is used to express an option or that which is permissible within thelimits of the standard.Notes accompanying clauses do not include requirements or alternative requirements.
